This notice is for any company that has purchased a quantity of our 18” x 18” main drain grates/covers as either frame and grates or sump and grates from December 19, 2008 to date. The part numbers are listed below for your verification. These grates/covers were voluntarily re-tested in strict accordance with ASME/ANSI A112.19.8 standard and may present a safety hazard. This notice and recall is in cooperation with and approval of the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC).
We therefore advise you that if ANY of the following products
were sold for use AS A SINGLE MAIN DRAIN, OR for use IN AN
IN-GROUND SPA OR WADING POOL (as defined by regulation), regardless of single or multiple use applications, THE COVER MUST BE REPLACED WITH A DRAIN COVER STAMPED WITH THE CORRECTED FLOW RATE. Drain covers used as a single main
drain in conjunction with a SVRS or automatic pump shut off are
also required to be replaced. Single drain Swimming Pools (as opposed to wading pools and in-ground spas) with gravity feed systems are excluded from recall.

- FI-SG-181824
Suffix may include: WT (white), BK (black), WT2 or BK2 indicating 2 pack, or PKG indicating sump and grate package. It is NOT automatically assumed that 2 packs were used in Multiple Drain Systems. This MUST be field verified.
The customer is required to determine the final end use of each purchase and communicate back to Lawson Aquatics regarding its installation and compliance with this notice using the Verification form below.
DO NOT REMOVE ANY COVER until Lawson Aquatics is notified and an approved replacement cover or its approved nominated replacement is supplied by Lawson Aquatics, Inc.
All reasonable costs associated with replacing a drain cover determined to be a hazard will be reimbursed by Lawson Aquatics, Inc. Lawson Aquatics may nominate a local Authorized Company to assist with the determination and replacement if required.
